A Trip to Leavenworth

No matter how often we visit Leavenworth, it never gets old.  So when we had the opportunity to leave town for a couple of days it was one of the first places we thought of.  This little Bavarian themed town, nestled on the east side of the Cascades, always gives us the feeling of being whisked away from our daily cares to another world.

The main street has been blocked off to allow for more outdoor dining as we continue to navigate our way through the pandemic, but things were no less picturesque.

We were serenaded each morning at breakfast by a live alphone as we gazed out through the breakfast room windows and set our sights on the town below and the forested hillsides beyond.  It was a delightful way to start each day.

Of course, we can't come to Leavenworth without a visit to the Christmas shops!

However, my favorite part of any visit to Leavenworth is always walking down along the river.  No matter what season, it's always beautiful.

After two lovely days it was time to head for home, so this is where I will leave you.  We did stop for a walk at Deception Falls, but I will leave that for another day.

Adieu!

  2. Glad you had a good time. Very unique breakfast music! Those Christmas shops are amazing. Deb and I walked along the river when everything was ablaze in autumn colors about ten years ago. It was stunning. I like it green too, in your photos.

  5. Thank you. Yes,I like visiting in the Spring or the fall when the weather is more temperate, although it used to be fun to take the kids up around Christmas to play in the snow when they were young.

  6. I'm glad you enjoyed your time away. It looks like a pretty place around the resort with spectacular mountain scenery. I like going to new places, but familiar places that hold happy memories of past holidays are also welcome.
