I have only done a little autumn decorating inside this year.
As always, nature has made it's own decoration outside. Ablaze in red and gold, our Flaming Maple Tree was in its full glory this week. I just love this tree, my little grocery store close out sapling I found and planted 25 years ago. Every year, it never disappoints. It's leaves turned from green to red and gold within just a couple of weeks.
Then, just as quickly the first autumn thunderstorm comes through with wind and slashing rain.
Now where did I put my rake!
These perfect little droplets of water left on these leaves after the storm were captivating.
" each leaf becomes a miniature jewel box, displaying the glistening diamonds of raindrops"
Have a blessed day!
Adieu!
Wow, that tree is incredibly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt really is isn't it? It was just this little 4 ft sapling when I found it outside the grocery store. I didn't even know if it would make it because our ground was so hard. However, it thrived and I just love it.
ReplyDeleteYour home is looking seasonal and the trees in your garden are also beautiful. Every blessing, Linda.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. I do enjoy the colors of this time of year.
DeleteLove the droplets of water on the plants. So pretty. Beautiful autumn color. Oh boy, lots of raking ahead! Enjoy the days ahead...
ReplyDeleteI am feeling very grateful for the invention of the leaf blower.
ReplyDeleteYou've got such beautiful autumn colour both inside and out. We planted a small Rowan, or Mountain Ash, this year. Its leaves have turned the most beautiful red, I think it's going to be a stunner when it's got a few year's growth under its belt.
ReplyDeleteYour little tree is ( was) so beautiful at least until the wind and rain decimated it. Your indoor decoration is lovely too. I find as I get older I put out less and less seasonal decor. Just enough to mark the new season.

Nice decorations, sometimes less is more. I didn't do anything for Halloween, but do need to get out my fall placemats and napkins at least for the table. Maybe tomorrow. Lovely fall pictures. We're having lots of wind today and rain is expected shortly, so that will probably bring down the rest of the leaves. I've mulched mowed once, and hubby blew the leaves to the curb once so far; but we'll have more after today. Our community has a large vacuum truck and they suck up the leaves and take them to be mulched.
