Summer flowers

I really like hosta.  Unfortunately, so do the deer who wander through the neighborhood.  They obviously thought these two new hostas I planted were a tasty treat!

Not only did they enjoy the Hostaa, but this poor red Heuchera plant never even made it out of the pot. (sigh)

Fortunately, they don't seem interested in the Crocosmia or the dahlias.

This is the day the Lord has made.  We will rejoice and be glad in it. Blessed Sunday!

  1. The flower arrangement looks pretty. It's a shame about the deer eating your hostas. I have to keep our hostas and dahlias in the covered yard otherwise the plants tend to be nibbled by slugs when planted out in the garden. Some of the sunflowers have also gone the same way, but I'm pleased that the orange crocosmias are now well established and give much pleasure.

  3. They really did enjoy those hostas. Yikes. For some reason the deer around here haven't nibbled on ours. Other things yes, but not the hostas.

    1. I never know from one season to the next what they are going to choose for their salad bar. This week we have a doe and twin fawns camping in the back under the apple trees. That's not surprising as the blackberries and the apples are all ripening.

  4. Sweet how you graciously accepted the deers eating the hosta. And beautiful that you have the beautiful dahlias and crocusmia. AMen to the verse, its one of my `theme` verses that I love to proclaim. Blessings and Rejoice in God`s goodness and love!❤️(even as you share your plants with His deer, I pray you receive new blessings and blossoming hosta!)

  5. Too bad about the hostas. I really like them, too. Since we have moved to a new home, we've lost strawberries early in the season, and grapes just recently, to the deer. So disappointing! I was really looking forward to the grapes when we got back from our holidays!
