Autumn Skies and Autumn surprises

Sometimes the hours just seem to float by, flowing into days and then into weeks.  Then suddenly a month has gone before we realize it.
After all the smokiness of September we have been reveling in golden October days interspersed with wet and chilly autumn rains.  The fresh clean air has given us bright blue skies and brilliant colors on the trees.  The other day I spent some time just looking up at the clouds drifting across the sky.

These photos from last year show the leaves on this tree seemed more red.

However, this year the colors seem more golden orange. Perhaps it's just the way the light is playing.  Whatever the reason, the colors are still amazing.

My garden didn't really take off this year for some reason.  By now I should have had a little pumpkin patch for my grandchildren to explore.  Unfortunately, while we have finally reached the flower stage, I have no doubt it won't be all that long before we see our first frosts and then it will be too late.  The bright yellow star shape of the blossom is pretty though.

I have finally finished my indoor decorating.   I love the feel of autumn around my house.

The best gift of this autumn season has been the birth of our first grandson.  He surprised us all by arriving three weeks early, but he is healthy and strong and we are all in love with him.

Three beautiful babies!  What can we say to the Lord except Thank You!

All blessings to you and yours.

Adieu!
