A Spring Day

We have been enjoying some warmer than usual spring weather the past few days with more to come.  The Lilacs are in full bloom as are the  rhododendrons. The bench is one that the kids all gave me last year for Mother's Day.  I think it really looks pretty next to the red blossoms of the Rhody.

This beautiful weather has given me a chance to get outside and enjoy a little gardening.  I can only be on my knees for short periods, but little bits of time can all add up.  On Friday one of my girl friends came over to help me do some weeding in the back yard.  When I had done all I could do, we went shopping for some plants to fill the pots in the front of the house followed by lunch at The Bakery in Snohomish.  It was past the lunch rush so we had the place pretty much to ourselves.  That meant we were able to sit by  a window overlooking the street.

Over the weekend our youngest came over.  While he and his dad washed the cars I was able to pot the plants I had picked up on Friday. I also repotted a little Flaming Bush seedling I had planted a couple of years ago.

This is the old bench from the back yard. It will be a good place to sit and read a book on a summer afternoon. The giant teacup planter was a gift from my daughter for Mother's Day a couple of years ago.  I love the bright colors.

That's about all that's been going on with me.  Life is quiet at the moment as I try to catch up with a few things and prepare for the surgery I will be having this summer to replace the hip that was damaged last year.  I hope we can take a short trip up into the mountains for a couple of days before that happens.  Meanwhile, we are just enjoying each day as it comes.  God is good.  Blessings to each of you. Adieu!
